I am living common-law after being divorced. I have a son and two daughters, plus a step-daughter. All are gems in their own way.

    What? 

    You're kidding, right?

    The things I sometimes read out there that just don't make sense are so numerous, it's scary. Take for instance the story of the maximum security prison guard who is being reprimanded for wearing a stab proof vest! Are you kidding me? The reason given by the spokesperson for the correctional institute is that it is "confrontational". Pardon? The bureaucrats are worried about the convicted killers, rapists, robbers, and God knows what else, being offended. Give me a break. Sure some may be rehabilitated during their "stay" but many will not and would just as soon stab a guard with a shank just for the fun or status it would bring them among the rest of the inmates.
