I have cleaned up my blogroll. Whoopee, you say. Well, I have added a really enjoyable blog called "It's Raining Insanity". The little downloadable video collection is very well done, for the most part. They give you a better sense of who Daemon Cain is. I've really enjoyed this find. I have a few other new reads in my BLOGLINES blogroll. I don't put everything here because some of the sites I visit are not for everyone's eyes. Some may offend. Heck, some of these might too, but these are pretty safe for the most part. Bye for now.
Oh to be young and naive once again.
We were talking about cavities and dentistry when our 5 year old asks:
"Do you have to get a needle if you have a sweet tooth."
She was relieved to find out you don't...after all she does have a sweet tooth, and she knows it.
The four joys in my life.
Wow. Christmas has passed. New Year's has come and gone. Already two weeks into 2005, and I finally get writing an entry for this blog. It's not because nothing has been going on. There has. It's just that I haven't had the urge to write about much lately. Anyway, here is a brief summary of things that have been going on.
Christmas was great. A very hectic time, with four kids and visiting a large family. All in one day. We've decided that next year we're going to give a little less to our kids. Somehow having so many presents diminishes the importance and meaning of any one present. Getting a present or two should be enough.
New Year's was quiet. The in-laws were staying with us so we had some drinks and watched the ball drop. To be honest, I'd rather be home with a bunch of people than out somewhere.
The Tsunami. How devastating nature can be! Even now, the pictures do not portray the awesome power that those waves must have possessed. I was caught in some rapids years ago, and the force they held me under the water was awe inspiring. I can only imagine the great force such waves would have had on the people and buildings in the area. The relief efforts are world wide but it will be years before these countries get near normal again. Do what you can to help.
I've just had some renovations (almost) completed in the house. What started out as a bathtub replacement turned into almost and entirely new bathroom, a fixed kitchen sink, a now functioning downstairs bathroom, and a re-done front entrance. A friend of ours came down from the great white north to do a new bathroom for my mother. He does it for a living, and was going to replace our tub, because it was cracked and leaking from time to time, while he was down. Well, many dollars later, there are a lot less jobs to do. All that's left is some drywall sanding and painting.
I've also decided to see if I can get laser eye surgery done. I have a consultation visit tomorrow. Hopefully, I can have the procedure done to the point that I will not need glasses or contacts. Somehow I have my doubts due to the fact I have such a high prescription and astigmatism. I'll keep you posted.
Well, until next time. Take care.
