I am living common-law after being divorced. I have a son and two daughters, plus a step-daughter. All are gems in their own way.

    The Silver Lining 

    Well, sometimes things work out. The house insurance is going to replace all the carpet and all the linoleum downstairs. They are also waiving the deductible since we did a good job of containing the mess. So, the big mess is now getting two things done on our "things we want to do but can't afford right now" list. In a round about way it cost me a good chunk of change, but probably less than if I had professionals come in to do the work anyway. Sweet.
