About Me

I am a 40-something year old computer analyst working in the world of the mainframe and the confines of the corporate machine.
My favorite things to do are:
Sports & PC games
I don't really have a favourite colour.
I am living common-law after being divorced. I have a son and two daughters, plus a step-daughter. All are gems in their own way.

    Project: Snowblind

I've been playing this game for the last little while. It's been entertaining. Basically, the story goes that you're a marine in future Hong Kong. You die...then you get fixed up all bionic-like.
Then the real game begins. When I started playing it, it reminded me of the Deus Ex series. Later I read it was to be the continuation of that series but ended up as it is. The similarities are obvious. You are enhanced and as you go through the game you gain more enhancements. The weaponry is very similar to Deus Ex and the controls are too.
The gameplay is quick enough and challenging enough. The environment is pretty open and the objectives aren't too linear. The two biggest gripes I have with it are the length (I finished it in about 4 hours of gameplay) and the graphics. For this day and age they weren't mind boggling. I saw little improvement over the Deus Ex series, which is a couple of years old now. Even the cut scenes were not done with any great flair. They were full of action and told a decent story, but there really was no wow to it. Unless you're a big fan of the Deus Ex series, I would wait for this one to hit the bargain bin.
